Record Exploration

I have been digging around in the dirt for a while now, fulling expecting to find the rotten onion down in there. But when I found it, my emotions still overtook me. To read what his father willed to him.....(He was also an enslaver) was an emotion I've not yet found a word for. My third great grandfather's enslaver had 13 pages of options from his Confederate father's estate. What did he select? He chose a branding iron, cowhide and chains alongside his walnut furniture and other pleasantries. This gave me a glimpse into the life of my ancestor.  Are you curious about your family history? It's never too late to start.
